Foundation Events
Throughout the year, Memorial Foundation and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation host events to raise funds for special projects and/or to recognize the donors who make substantial financial commitments.
May 18, 2008 — Daniella's Journey by the Sea
A 5K Run, Walk and Kid's Fun Run will be held at John U. Lloyd State Park in Dania Beach starting a 7:00am. Proceeds from this event benefit Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation. For registration and sponsorship information go to www.daniellasjourney.org.
July 24 and 25, 2008 — KISS Cares for Kids Radiothon
99.9FM KISS Country devotes an entire day to on-air fundraising for Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. This annual event will be broadcast live from Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and will include an online auction.
Fall 2008 — Family Fun Day at Calder Race Course
For each ticket collected on this day, Calder Race Course will make a $5 donation to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation. Please call the Foundation Office to have free tickets sent to you.
November 15, 2008 — Diamond Angels' 5th Annual Fairy Tale Ball
The Diamond Angels is a volunteer organization that raises money for the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation. This year will mark the 5th Annual Ball, which will feature an Arabian Nights theme. Please call the Foundation Office for sponsorship and ticket information.
December 13, 2008 — Toys in the Sun Run
Join this exciting, annual motorcycle parade, which ends at Markham Park in Sunrise. Hosted by the South Florida President's Council of Motorcycle Clubs and Organizations, riders enjoy a ride in the sun and collect new toys for kids in need. January 2009 — Memorial Classic
The Player Reception and Auction, which will be held at the Signature Grand, brings together friends of the hospital and former major league baseball players for a great cause. In addition to a variety of foods and beverages, the evening features an auction of sports and celebrity memorabilia. Tickets and sponsorship information will be available in the fall.
January 2009 — 21st Annual Joe DiMaggio Legends Baseball Game
Played at the Fort Lauderdale Stadium, this popular annual event features former major league players as well as legends from the sports and entertainment worlds. Tickets and sponsorship information will be available in the fall.
January 2009 — Conine All-Star Golf Classic
This all-star golf tournament is hosted each year by former Florida Marlin Jeff Conine and his wife, Cindy, at The Club at Emerald Hills. Retired and active athletes volunteer their time to play in the tournament to raise funds in support of the Conine Clubhouse, a home-away-from-home for children and their families at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Spring 2009 — Rodenberg Lecture Series
The Rodenberg Lecture Series is held annually in support of women's health. The lecture is free to the public and is paid for by an endowment made to Memorial Foundation by Dr. Thomas and Joan Rodenberg.
